My name is Joanne Morgan and I began my healing journey nearly seven years ago and wow to think of where I was then to where I am now, I feel like I am talking about a whole different person and in a way I am! Back then I was lost, deeply unhappy and unfulfilled in most aspects of my life- I felt hopeless. However, experiencing all this darkness and knowing I couldn’t live this way spurred me towards my own healing journey a journey home to my true authentic self. You might say the greatest journey we can ever take is to come home to the truth that we have everything we need within us to move into our power and live our greatest life. I used to feel like a victim of life and I was searching for others to ‘fix’ me when really my own journey showed me that there was nothing wrong with me and that I definitely was not broken. On my journey back to seeing my wholeness I found different healing modalities which profoundly helped me release stored emotional trauma, on a deep cellular level within my body and then to re-programme my subconscious with new empowering beliefs about myself and the world I live in. I had found that even though I had cleared a lot of trauma or dysregulation from my nervous system and had learnt how to regulate my nervous system, after years of living in fight or flight, there were still beliefs within me which were leading me towards living in fear and distrust in myself. So a huge part of gaining trust and belief back in myself was by working with my subconscious to ensure I worked through the limiting beliefs keeping me stuck such as; “I’m not intelligent”, “I’m not good enough” and “It is safe for me to be seen and to shine”, which were keeping me stuck in self-sabotaging behaviours in both my personal life and in my career. Finding such powerful tools which helped me heal are what inspired me to leave Teaching after ten years! I just knew that it was time for me to follow my passion as I finally felt worthy of doing so and I wanted others to know that they didn’t have to suffer too. If I could go from a place of self-hate to self-love and acceptance and to now teaching workshops on self-love , anyone can embody their truth that they are powerful, loved and can live a limitless life. For me mental health is the most important part of our lives- if we don’t have emotional resilience, self-belief and love for ourselves we see life through the lens of struggle, shame and insecurity- whether that be in our career or personal life, our mental health seeps into and eventually impacts every aspect of our lives.
I believe more people need to know about alternative methods of working on our mental health, the techniques that helped me and that I use are based on neuroscience and work with our brain and neuro-chemistry to create deep, transformational effects on body, mind and soul. It is about searching for something that resonates with you and that you feel drawn to whether that is Wim Hoff’s Ice baths and breathing techniques, meditation, delving into kinesiology or ayurvedic lifestyle to find out what works best for your mind and body. I promise you that whatever journey you take for your mental health, you won’t regret it. I am so grateful for my journey which helped me to move from a place of disempowerment, unhappiness and fear to where I am now living in peace, joy and fulfilment and I now can see why I had to experience this journey as I couldn’t be the person I am today without going through all those experiences that have shaped me and for that I am eternally grateful for my journey home to my authentic self. May you know that if you are experiencing challenges with your mental health that there is always hope and that you are worth the fight.
