Mental Health – It’s Time to Talk

One in four people are affected by mental health, yet, it still seems to be a taboo subject for so many. People suffering from mental health issues can feel isolated, worthless and even ashamed. Thankfully, now more than ever, there seems to be more and more conversations around mental health, helping to break down barriers. Awareness is brought through organised days like the recent Time to Talk Day (7th February 2019), and through Mental Health Awareness Week (13th May – 19th May 2019).

That said, now is a good time to talk, every day is a good day to speak about how we feel and get the help and support we need.

With the recent focus on, Time to Talk, I want to encourage you all to find someone to talk to, a listening ear, someone to show you that there is light even on dark days. There is absolutely nothing to be ashamed about in seeking support. Don’t go it alone, as the saying goes, a problem shared is a problem halved. You never know, sharing your problems with someone else may well show them they’re not alone either.

Believe in the person you want to become and keep taking little steps until you get to where you want to be!
