Crush Your Goals!

Tell us a little bit about the Goal that you have crushed:

I was diagnosed with anorexia a short time after I left to go travelling in 2017. Following the diagnosis, I was sent home and my journey to recovery started. I accepted that this was something that had taken over my life and, strange as it may sound an actual diagnosis was the best news as it set me free to a life and acceptance of who I am.

What steps did you take to crush this goal?

I came home from my travels, attended an eating disorder clinic, set weekly food which were challenging and started to journal more. I would write out my feelings and walk in nature where I found peace and an inner connection. Having lost my father at 13, I really felt the spiritual healing from dad. I started to challenge my mind and the negative thoughts. Now I see a Nutritionist as well as a Sport and Eating Disorder Specialist to help me to keep on top of my emotions and strive to get to where I want to be.

How did it make you (or your nominee) feel to Crush your Goal?

I wouldn’t say I have crushed my goal completely, but I know I am on the right path and journey. Little by little I continue to take the necessary steps in the recovery process and am learning to feel more confident, comfortable and at peace with myself.

Have you identified the next goal you’d like to crush… can you share any details with us?

I have a few goals in mind which centre around helping others who are suffering. I would like to get involved in mental health and eating disorder recover, as well as start a charity to help support those who are suffering and feeling alone. I love public speaking events which enable me to assist in the development of a support network for those in need. I hope to be able to make a difference in the healing journey for many other people.
