I have been with Close Brothers Commercial Finance for 3 and a half years, and in my current role as Area Sales Manager for the previous 6 months.

My promotion to Area Sales Manager consumed my efforts for the best of 8 months in 2018, January – August. With no Asset Finance Sales experience but armed with a willingness to learn and belly full of ambition and drive, I entered a process which included monthly training sessions in Wimbledon, London. I was shortlisted for an assessment centre along with 40 candidates who were contested on their presentation ability, a role play, group task and an interview with Managing Directors from all over the Close brothers Group…and I am pleased to say this story does have a happy ending.

My ‘crush your goals’ story may have felt never ending at times and if I have learnt anything from the process, it is to never give up or feel disheartened – even if some goals are not as instant as the fast paced world we all live in. I believe your character is everything and by having a positive mindset, relentless attitude we can be unstoppable in accomplishing what we set out to achieve.

We often encounter different journeys in getting where we want to be but the end result is often the same, a sense of achievement and a place of content where the things we say, do and think are all simultaneous.
