Why is an equal society important to you?
TriMedika is an innovative medical device manufacturer founded by two women; something that is not common within the med-tech industry, so for myself, establishing credibility has been the biggest challenge in a market sector that does not embrace change, both from a female leadership perspective and new technology within healthcare. An equal society is extremely important to me, to ensure female voices are amplified and empowered within science, engineering and tech, as I act as a mentor in female schools in NI, to drive them towards entrepreneurship and STEM subjects.
What does an equal society look like for you?
For me an equal society provides equal opportunity for all those who are within it. This means you have the same opportunity to grow and also be treated fairly and encouraged to be your best.
What would you like to do to make a difference, in the quest for equality?
Recruitment of roles and investors should be blindly done. This means there would not be any bias in the selections. They say a man is invested by potential and a women is invested by performance, and this needs to change!
